Malifaux Game

MALIFAUX is a miniature based game from Wyrd Miniatures

Malifaux is based in an alternate Earth, and uses gothic, steampunk, wild west and victorian horror to buid a lawless world rife with monsters, necropunks, man-machine hybrids, and gunslingers. Actively using character-driven stories to define the world of Malifaux, players face a fast-paced and brutal 32mm tabletop miniature skirmish game.

Assemble your skirmish crew from a host of different characters. The five core factions include The Guild, Arcanists, Neverborn, Resurrectionists and Outcasts.

What attracted me most to this game was the great world setting, the huge choice of characters and some really great models to paint up which reminded me of the superb quality that used to be found in the Hybrid game by Rackham (sadly this company is extinct). I have yet to get to grips with all the game mechanics as such, but uniquely it uses card fate decks rather than dice rolls to offer a better strategic choice and gives the opportunity and illiusion of having much more control of the outcome of events. It feels very strategic in gameplay and at first does seem a tad over complex if you include all the newer rule features. But i am sure itll get easier as i play more.
